How Payments Work

The short version

Your customer pays you directly. The funds go from their wallet to your wallet. Brykto never holds them. It only watches the network to confirm they arrived.

This is what non-custodial means. There is no Brykto balance to withdraw from, because the funds were never with Brykto in the first place.

Step by step

  1. You create a payment link, or a customer clicks your checkout button.
  2. They open the payment page. On a computer they see a QR code. On a phone they see a button that opens their wallet app.
  3. Their wallet opens with your address and the exact amount already filled in.
  4. They confirm the payment.
  5. The payment settles on the network in a few seconds.
  6. Brykto sees it, marks the payment paid, and tells you.

What you need set up

Only two things, and both are done during onboarding:

  • A connected wallet, so there is somewhere for the funds to go
  • A chosen asset, so Brykto knows what to ask your customer for

What Brykto never does

  • Hold your funds, even briefly
  • Take a cut of a payment
  • Reverse or refund a payment

Refunds are possible, but you send them yourself from your wallet. Brykto has no way to move funds out of it.
