Help Center Troubleshooting Common Errors

Common Errors

Payment limit reached

You are on the Free plan and have taken 30 completed payments this month.

Wait for the 1st, when the count resets, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited payments.

The link ran out before it was paid. How long it had depends on where it came from: 7 days from your dashboard, 30 minutes from a checkout button or the API.

A dashboard link can be reactivated for another 7 days. For a button or API payment, the customer simply starts again.

Invalid API key

The key in your request is wrong or has been rotated. Check:

  • You are using the current key from Developer Tools.
  • It is in the X-API-Key header, not in the URL.
  • There are no stray spaces or line breaks around it.

Your account has not finished onboarding, so there is nowhere for payments to go. Finish all four steps and this clears.

Merchant setup is not complete

Your customer sees this when they click a checkout button on an account that has not finished onboarding. Same fix as above.

Account identifier not found

The wallet address or federation address you entered could not be verified. Check it inside your wallet app and enter it again exactly as shown there.

Trustline not set

Your wallet cannot hold USDC, USDT0 or RLUSD yet. Add the trustline from your wallet's asset list, then try again. See Wallet connection issues.

Payments are temporarily unavailable

Brykto has paused payments across the platform, usually for maintenance. This is not a problem with your account and nothing you do will change it. Existing links are unaffected and will work once payments resume.
