Native Digital Currency Payments (XRP & XLM)

What is native mode?

In native mode, you create a payment request directly in XRP or XLM. The amount is fixed at the time you create the link. No conversion happens.

This is for merchants who are comfortable with digital currency pricing and accept that the fiat equivalent may change between when the link is created and when it is paid.

How it works

  1. You create a payment link for, say, 5 XRP.
  2. The customer opens the link and sees 5 XRP as the amount to send.
  3. Their wallet opens with the exact amount pre-filled.
  4. The payment is confirmed and 5 XRP arrives in your wallet.

Tolerance

Brykto allows a plus or minus 2% difference on the amount received. This accounts for minor network fees or rounding differences.

When to use native mode

Use native mode if you:

  • Operate a digital currency business and price your products in XRP or XLM
  • Want to hold digital currency without converting to stablecoins
  • Are comfortable with price movements

For most merchants who price in fiat, stablecoin mode is the better choice.
